The Twilight 5K Run/Walk and the Kid Mile, will start at 6:30 pm on Saturday, June 24, 2017 in conjunction with the Tigard Festival of Balloons

Race Day Schedule – all events at Cook Park

  • 5 pm – 6:30 pm – Sponsor Fair
  • 6:30 pm – Twilight Kid Mile start
  • 7pm – Twilight 5K Start
  • 7:30 pm – Awards Party & Raffle Winners Announced
  • 8:30pm(ish) – NIGHT GLOW

Twilight Kids Mile Post Race

Cool, refreshing popsicle treats and a Twilight Kid Mile participation ribbon will await each runner at the end of the race.

Twilight 5K Run Awards Party

Celebrate your run at the Awards Party. Enjoy light refreshments from our sponsor, under the blue gazebo. For 5K participants only.  Get ready to cheer as we announce the raffle winners and top 5K runners.

Night Glow

After the race, stroll over to the Tigard Festival of Balloons to enjoy music, carnival rides and games, food, the Rogue Beer Garden, and the mesmerizing Night Glow (weather permitting). As the sky darkens, hot air balloons will be inflated, with their ignited burners lighting each brightly colored balloon in the night sky. It’s a spectacular display.

Directions

The race will start and end inside Cook Park, located at 17005 Southwest 92nd Avenue Tigard, Oregon. Look for signage to direct you to Twilight Run race area after you exit the Festival Parking lot.

Parking

Parking will be at Tigard High fields, and is very busy, so please carpool and come early. On site Balloon Festival parking is available for $5 and is a bit of a walk (0.4 of a mile) to the run start line inside Cook Park. The ONLY parking entrance is on Durham Road. Enter through parking lot of Tigard High Swim Center at 9600 SW Durham Road. (Balloon Festival Parking)

Packet Pickup

Race bib pick up will be available Thursday, June 23 and Friday, June 24.  Bibs and packets may be picked up between 4:00-7:30 pm at:

Balloon Festival Entrance

Free access to the Balloon Festival for Twilight Run participants on Saturday, June 25 is available only via the main festival gate. You must have picked up your bib on Thursday or Friday at Road Runner Sports if you plan to enter the festival before 5:00 pm. Please keep your race number to identify yourself as a Twilight Run participant. Family, friends and spectators will need to purchase Balloon Festival tickets to access the run start/finish line. Three day festival ticket passes are $5 per person online and $7 at the Balloon Festival gate.

The main festival gate to buy tickets day of is at the end of the Balloon Festival parking lot, on 92nd street. 92nd is only accessible by foot to Festival patrons. No festival car traffic is allowed.

Course and Race Information

Each mile will be indicated with a sign. Signs and volunteers will be at all intersections directing you as required. The 5K course map can be found on the links to the right.

Water Station

There will be a volunteer-staffed water station out on the course at the 1.5 mile mark.

Trail Etiquette

The Cook Park trails are shared by runners, cyclists and rollerbladers. We ask that you only run 2 abreast, call out when you are about to pass someone (“Passing on the right”), and only pass on the right hand side. No littering please.

Restrooms

The flush toilet facilities of the park will be open near the start/finish. There are no restrooms on the course.

Race Awards

Race awards will go to the top three male and female athletes in the Open and Masters category. The age group winners will be recognized as well.
